Just a quick 33-minute jaunt south of Kingsland is a 137-acre wild animal preserve and zoo, aptly called Exotic Resort Zoo in Johnson City, Texas. It is home to over 500 animals and 80 different species, and half of the wild animals in the park were once on the endangered animals list and near extinction. Today, thanks to zoos and parks like Exotic Zoo Resort, many of these animals are thriving and multiplying and will be here for generations to come to enjoy! Daily, guided tours are available 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the last one of the day leaves at 5 p.m.
During the guided tour you'll encounter animals with very different personalities, such as "Omar the Camel" and "Rusty the Buffalo," - both come right up to the bus and eat out of your hand!
